NC State also prohibits retaliation for any protected activity. “Protected Status” is defined as an individual’s actual or perceived: race, color, or national origin (including shared ancestry or ethnic characteristics), sex (including sexual orientation, gender identity, and pregnancy or related conditions), age, disability, genetic information, religion, and veteran’s status.

Title IX - Sex Discrimination
At NC State, we are committed to ensuring that every member of our community learns and works in an environment free of sex discrimination and sexual harassment. Consistent with Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972, NC State does not discriminate against students, employees or members of the community on the basis of sex in any of its programs or activities, including recruitment, student admissions, financial assistance, housing, access to academic offerings, research and extension programs.
