Before you can use the NIFA Reporting System (NRS) you need to register with Login.gov and complete an identity verification process. Use unityID@ncsu.edu as your linked email address/user name with login.gov. New users will then need to reach out to the CALS NRS Organizational Administrator to link your login.gov account to NRS..
Follow the guide below to establish your login.gov account and access NRS.
When you’re ready to create your secure Login.gov account, you’ll need to provide a few pieces of information:
1. Email address
- Use unityID@ncsu.edu.
- If you use an email address that is already associated with a Login.gov account, we’ll email instructions on how you can reset your password and regain access to your account.
2. Secure password
- Passwords must be at least 12 characters and should not include commonly used words or phrases.
3. One or more authentication methods such as:
- Face or touch unlock
- Security key
- Authentication application
- Text/voice message
- Backup codes
